About Us

We are Ordinary Magic - a purpose-led not-for-profit supporting the emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and families through play therapy, school reintegration, SEND advocacy, and community drop-ins.

Who We Are

We are Ordinary Magic — a passionate, purpose-led not-for-profit working to improve the emotional wellbeing of children, young people and their families. From play therapy to school reintegration support, from SEND advocacy to community drop-ins, we provide practical, compassionate help when life gets difficult.

Over the years, our team has grown from a small grassroots project into a trusted, multi-skilled workforce of therapists, wellbeing practitioners, family workers and SEND specialists. Our growth reflects the needs of the community we serve — and we are proud of the work we do every single day to make a difference.

Our Mission & Vision

Mission: To deliver early, accessible and inclusive support that helps children and families feel safe, seen, heard and understood.

Vision: A future where emotional support is never out of reach, and every child has what they need to thrive.

Our Journey

We began with a simple idea: to be there for children who were struggling, but didn’t meet thresholds for statutory services — or who were falling through the cracks. Since then, we’ve supported thousands of families, developed deep community partnerships, and become one of the most recognised names in children’s emotional wellbeing support in our region.

Today, we offer a full menu of support that stretches across schools, homes, communities and workplaces, and we’re still growing.

Our Approach

We follow a graduated approach — offering the right support at the right time. Sometimes that means taking the lead as the main point of contact for early help; other times, we work alongside statutory health, education and social care partners as part of a wider multi-agency team. We’re flexible, collaborative, and always centred on the needs of the child and family.

We are also proud to be a key partner within the Connected Care Network, working collaboratively to reduce duplication, speed up access to support, and ensure truly joined-up care.

We’re Proud — and Just Getting Started

We are incredibly proud of what we’ve built — not just in terms of services, but in the trust and relationships we’ve built with children, families, schools and communities.

And we’re not done yet. We’ll continue to grow, adapt, and push for a world where children’s emotional wellbeing is treated as a priority, not an afterthought.
